CHRIS CARLIER & THE SCARLETTS
with Eden Rohatensky and Jen&DuaneChris Carlier & The Scarletts play mellow, melty creative pop/folk music that goes well with wine.
Chris takes the little that he knows about his favourite artists and, inspired by them, splashes blotches of ink onto paper using magic and a pencil. He then hires as many great musicians as he can to back him up in a weird little thrown-together chamber-sort-of setting, forcing them to run around the room screaming like insane persons until music comes out! For anyone who likes Beirut, Caribou, Owen Pallett, Kaada, Beck, Björk, Rheostatics, The Flaming Lips...

OLD MAN LUEDECKE
with DEL BARBER-Regina Folk Festival Concert Series-
Old Man Luedecke, is one of Canada's best loved and most intriguing roots singer-songwriters. "An original, he is a musical singularity to be savoured and shared", says the Vancouver Folk Festival.
His memorable melodies, poetic sense and easy charisma appeal to anyone searching for new growth from old roots. He channels a refreshing energy from folk giants like Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger with maybe a hint of Loudon Wainwright III. But it's Luedecke's contemporary lyrics coupled with the irresistible rhythm of the old time banjo that connect and make him so loved with his audiences.
http://oldmanluedecke.ca/Winnipeg singer-songwriter Del Barber was the top winner at the Western Canadian Music Awards, taking home the hardware for Roots Solo Recording and Independent Album, for his Juno Award-nominated album, Love Songs for the Last Twenty. Barber's presence on stage is electric with raw talent, ample doses of charm, polished finger-style guitar work and warm melodies. He dreams new life into deep folk forms with a cutting sense of humour, a hint of cynicism, keen narrative and metaphor.

ADALINE CD Release
with guests ERIN PASSMORE and THE FORTUNATE ISLESAdaline achieves near Judy Garland levels of melodrama on the stately electro-torch song that opens her new album, Modern Romantics. It's what Adaline does best; elegant structures that happen to be wildly hooky. Deeper by orders of magnitude, based on the sheer stylistic scope of Modern Romantics, and the quixotic path it takes through sexy, minatory trip hop, smartly built robo-pop, and even the sad-erotic cabaret of "Cost Is Too High (Not To Love)". Adaline and her co-writers and co-producers Hawksley Workman, Marten Tromm, and Tino Zolfo have made the kind of music that's invested with depth you only ever get from high-end, ultra-talented music nerds.

Inspired by bands like Franz Ferdinand and The Ting Tings, The Fortunate Isles create music with strong beats, head bobbing rhythms and catchy synth hooks that entice people to get up and dance. Don't let lead singer/synth player Steph Tewksbury's petite and quiet demeanor fool you. Once on stage she will blow you away with her powerful and soulful vocals. Calm, cool and collected guitarist Steve Vass plays such smooth and precise riffs that will get everyone swaying to his sweet sounds. Stoic and wry bassist Jeremy Putz channels his composed energy to play the bass with great passion and precision. Last but not least, drummer Steve McNeil can sure beat the hell out of his drums! He knows how to keep the group grounded with his strong beats and solid rhythm.
